A DVSA Standards Check assesses how you teach a pupil during a real driving lesson. Whether you already have a date or want to develop your skills before you are called, Instructor Development UK can help you prepare.
Our training focuses on understanding your pupil’s needs, managing risk, adapting the lesson and helping your pupil learn
A DVSA examiner observes you teaching one of your pupils for approximately 45 minutes. Your teaching is assessed across 17 competencies in three areas:
The examiner looks at how you teach throughout the lesson, including how you respond when your pupil’s needs or the situation on the road changes
Work on your teaching in a practical lesson setting, with focused feedback and clear points to practise afterwards
